Day Thirty-three

Today's words:
Justice
Increments
Cockroach
Scissors
Gallows
Motorcycle

Justice
Is done in increments.
It's like squashing a cockroach -
If you've found one, there are many more, and no scissors
Can cut the hangman's noose at the gallows.
But let's start with the motorcycle.

While the French President rides his motorcycle
To visit his mistress, I wonder what justice
Has to do with that. Why condemn a man to the gallows
When otherwise he's done a good job? The increments
Between public and private are slight. A scissors
Can't separate them, and the press is a cockroach.

Coming out in the dark, like a cockroach,
To follow a man on a motorcycle,
Trying to live his life. Scissors
Can't cut the cord of justice
Here, while his girlfriend dies in increments.
She's the one who should send him to the gallows.

What a sordid scene at the Elysée. That's what the gallows
Should be for. Not because he has the morals of a cockroach -
Who cares, really, beyond the increments
Of his immediate family - but taking off on a motorcycle?
He should have known better, really. Justice
Today has more to do with scissors

Than truth. Using scissors
To cut articles out of the tabloids - there's our modern gallows.
Who needs justice
When we've got photos? OK, the guy is a cockroach
In his personal life, riding off on his motorcycle,
And debasing his Office in increments

With each observed visit. These increments
Weren't visible in the past. No scissors
Out. Did he think the motorcycle
Would disguise him? That's how you wind up on the gallows,
Underestimating the cockroach.
They'll get you any way they can - that's modern justice.

His visits were increments leading to the gallows.
It's like using scissors to try to stab a cockroach,
Or a motorcycle to run down justice.
